Lee Roy Allen, 90, Walnut Street, Campbellsville, son of the late Lewis Thomas Allen and Sally Hullett Allen, was born in LaRue county, Feb. 10, 1897. He died at approximately 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 5, 1987, at his residence after an extended illness.
He was of the Separate Baptist Faith. He was a retired farmer.
He united in marriage to Julia Ann Brewer April 19, 1916. She preceded him in death Nov. 8, 1957. He was also preceded in death by one son, Bill Allen, on Feb. 10, 1980.
He is survived by four daughters and four sons, Elsie Allen, Mary Katherine Garnett, Lewis D. Allen, Thomas I. Allen, and Roy Allen, all of Camobellsville, Myrtle R. Druien, Louisville, Opal L. Warren, Aurora, Ill., and Paul Edward Allen, Sandwich, Ill.; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; one brother, Charlie Allen, Campbellsville and several other relatives and many friends.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by the Rev. Walter Lay and the Rev. Freddy Thompson. Burial was at the Otter Creek Separate Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mark Allen, Lee Allen, Raymond Allen, Brian Allen, David Allen and Joey Davidson.
