Charlie Wesley Allen, 74, a retired welder of North Columbia Avenue in Campbellsville, son of the late Lewis Thomas Allen and Sallie Hullet Allen, was born in Larue County, Oct. 13, 1912. He died at 1:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 31, 1987, at his home after an extended illness. He was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II, having served his country in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945. He received the Phillipine Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Service Stars, Good Conduct Ribbon, two Bronze Service Stars, and the Bronze Arrowhead Ribbon. He united in marriage to Elizabeth O'Banion Miskell March 22, 1957. Besides his wife, he is survived by one step-son and two step-daughters, Shirley Ann Benningfield and Carolyn Mae Price, both of Campbellsville, and Robert Emmett Miskell, Memphis, Tenn.; nine step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters, Willard Allen, Edward Allen, Otis Allen, Roy Allen, Gertie Allen, Sudie Underwood, and Zanie Allen. The funeral was at 4 p.m., Thursday, April 2, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by the Rev. Michael Moynahan and the Rev. Marshall Black. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were: Robby Benningfield, Robert Miskell Jr., Kevin Lee Miskell, Wayne Thornton, Timothy Warren, J. W.
