Spanish Fork - Preston Lewis, 62, died this morning at a local hospital after a lingering illness. He was born June 11, 1898 at Millfork, Spanish Fork Canyon, a son of John Samuel and Mary Jane Harris Lewis. He was a miner in Nevada until 1944 and was employed by Geneva Steel Company as a pipefitter at the time of his death. He was a member of the LDS church. He married Josephine Hutchinson in Oct.1920. She died in May, 1958. On May 6, 1959, he married Norma Bertelson. He is survived by his wife, of Spanish Fork, three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Roy (Mary) Belaney, Artesia, CA; Mrs. Chester (Betty) McVey, and Mrs. Jacob (Anita) VanSlockteren, both of Spanish Fork; Guy Lewis of Stockton, CA; and Richard Lewis of Provo,UT. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork Cemetery.
