Early Life: Richard was born July 17, 1928, in Elko, Nevada, the son of Preston and Josephine Alzina Hutchinson Lewis.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: He married Shirley Rae Sheppard; they later divorced. He married Jeannette Wagstaff; they were later divorced. On May 28, 1975, he married Doris Coates in Elko, Nevada; she preceded him in death on July 29, 2007. Richard loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping; especially when he was with his family and his dogs. He is a World War II Navy veteran. He is a woodworker and was known as an innovative tinkerer who could make anything work with the materials that he had available. Richard worked for Geneva Steel for 41 years in the Blast Furnace. Richard Neil Lewis, of American Fork, Utah, passed away September 27, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 87 years old.
Survived By: His children: Sherry Gardner, Kelly (Shauna) Monson, Cindy (Tom) Ruckman, Dale (Michelle) Monson, Brent (Tresa) Monson, Kyle (Jess) Lewis; daughter in-law, Kay Lewis; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Preceded In Death By: His wife, Doris; his parents; three sons: Mark Preston, Richard Neil Jr. and Dan Clark Lewis; four sisters; two brothers and a grandson.
