New Hope—Marie Pilon, 91, a former resident of Newfolden, died February 2 in New Hope.
Funeral services were held February 6 at the Kapala-Glodck Crystal New Hope chapel. Interment was at Newfolden.
Marie Svendsen was born Feb. 15, 1899 in Newfolden, the daughter of Brede and Nathalia (Hansted) Svendsen. She attended school and grew up there. On Feb. 23, 1920, she was united in marriage to Edmond Pilon. He died in 1927. She farmed with the Svendsen Brothers on their land east of Newfolden for over 80 years until she moved to the New Hope area.
She is survived by three grandsons: Mark, Bradley and Timothy Pilon; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, Harold, and ten brothers and sisters. p. 4, February 11, 1991, Thief River Falls Times
