Services were held last Wednesday for Mrs. Hans (Helga) Hanson, 81, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Newfolden with Rev. C. L. Kalmoe officiating. She died the previous Saturday at her Newfolden home.
Burial was in the Folden Cemetery. Bearers were Virgil Melo, Harlan Melo, Wallace Johnson, Morris Hanson, Lester Swenson and Darrel Swanson. Mrs. Vernon Nenson was the organist and Mrs. Oscar Arnundson the soloist.
Mrs. Hanson, the former Helga Svendsen, was born May 31, 1891 in Newfolden Township, Marshall County, the daughter of Brede and Nathalia Svendsen. She attended school at Newfolden and was baptized and confirmed in the Folden Lutheran Church. She was married to Hans Hanson at Warren, Dec. 31, 1915, and has lived in Newfolden since.
She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, its ladies aid and was a Sunday School teacher for many years.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Kenneth Hanson, of Brainerd; one granddaughter, Karmi; two brothers, Norris and Oscar Svendsen, both of Newfolden; and three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Setterholm of Minneapolis and Emma Hanson and Mrs. Mary Pilon both of Newfolden.
