Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Hansen, 80, of Newfolden were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Westaker Free Lutheran church in Newfolden. A lifetime resident of the Newfolden community, Mrs. Hansen died Friday at her farm home.
Rev. Hubert DeBoer officiated at the services. Organist and soloist was Mrs. Stanley Holmaas. Interment was in the Folden cemetery with the Green Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were John Lokstad, Norman Folden, Leslie Folden, Stanley Holmaas, Lester Olson and Bernhard Nelson.
Mrs. Hansen, the former Emma Svendsen, was born June 23, 1894 in Newfolden township, Marshall county, to Brede and Nathalia Svendsen. She attended school in that community. On June 23, 1923, she was united in marriage to Even Hansen at Warren. After their marriage, the couple settled on a farm east of Newfolden. Following the death of her husband on March 18, 1966, Mrs. Hansen continued to make her home on the farm with her son and daughter.
Surviving are a son and three daughters: Morris Hansen, Ardelle Hansen, both at home on the farm; Mrs. Robert (Ivedelle) Kohl of Grand Forks, N.D., and Mrs. Henry (Irene) Ford of Ukiah, Calif.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brothers: Norris and Oscar Svendsen, both of Newfolden; and two sisters: Mrs. Marie Pilon of Newfolden, and Mrs. Setterholm of Clementson.
