MRS. ROGER MILLER DIES
And the End Comes on the Eighty-Second Anniversary of Her Birthday - Funeral Monday.
Mrs. Roger Miller, whose maiden name was Margaret Mackie, passed away at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon at the home of her brother, Alexander Mackie, 23 Frederick avenue. Death was due to ailments incident to old age. She was 82 years of age, and by a queer stroke of fate her death occurred on the date of her birthday, Nov. 6. She was born in Newbury, Vt., in 1843, and came to Winnebago county with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. William Mackie, at an early age and settled in the town of Nekimi. She was educated in Oshkosh schools. Later she taught school in the county and also in Illinois.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband and one son by a former marriage, Hawley Smith of Richland Center, Wis. There also survive four brothers, Alexander and Robert Mackie of Couer d'Alene, Idaho, two sisters, Mrs. Belle Brown of this citym and Mrs. Rosa Marshall of Tacoma, Wash., and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Riverside chapel with Rev. Walter Ryder, pastor of the First Baptist church in charge. Services are to be private. Interment will be in the Ellenwood cemetery.
