Mrs. Maude Belle Lambert, of Springfield, and formerly a resident of Waverly, died at St. John's hospital, Sunday at 1:00 o'clock a.m., at the age of 60 years.
Mrs. Lambert was born in Manchester, April 8, 1884, the daughter of Nicholas and Hannah Hughes. She was the widow of Charles Lambert, who died August 8th of this year.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Grace Cowman of Waverly, Mrs. Betty Ruth Schmiedeke and Mrs. Ethel Ingram, of Springfield; one son, Pvt. Kenneth Lambert, in military service overseas; four brothers, Oscar Hughes of Waverly, Richard and Henry Hughes of Springfield, and Lewis Hughes of Centralia; and one sister, Mrs. Clara Palmer, of Montana.
Funeral services were held at Soule Methodist church in this city, Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, in charge of Rev. W. H. Lucas, pastor of South 7th St. Baptist church, in Springfield, assisted by Rev. W. W. Henry, pastor of Soule Methodist church.
Burial was in East cemetery.
