Mary B. L. Hughes was born Jan. 23, 1876, near Nilwood, Ill. When a small child she moved with her parents to Manchester, Ill., and when 13 years old made a profession of religion uniting with the Baptist church in East Union.
In the year 1890 she was united in marriage to Thomas Knight. To this union were born seven children. She has been a good wife and mother, living a constant christian until death.
She died July 9, 1905, age 29 years, 5 months and 17 days, leaving to mourn their loss, her husband, seven children, father and mother, seven brothers, two sisters and a host of friends and relatives. Funeral services were held at the house at 2 p.m. Rev. F. W. Spicer of the M. E. church south officiating.
