Thomas Hartzell,66, of RD 2 died in Jameson Memorial Hospital at 10:30 p.m. yesterday after a five-week illness.
He was born in New Castle, Jan. 6, 1898, to John and Elizabeth Knight Hartzell. He married the former Esther Wallace 28 years ago.
Mr. Hartzell was retired from the Fenati Brick Co.
He was a member of Madison Avenue Christian Church, the Men's Bible Class and was a deacon in the church.
He is survived by his wife; five sisters, Mrs. John (Nettie) Majesky of New Castle, Mrs. W.J. (Margaret) Dickerson and Mrs. Mary Lang, both of Albuquerque, N.M., Mrs. James (Elizabeth) Fee of New Castle and Mrs. Paul (Harriett) Duffy of Fontana, Calif.; and three brothers, Chester Hartzell of Pulaski RD 1, William Hartzell and Harry Hartzell of New Castle.
Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday by Rev. J.G. Allison of the Washington Union Alliance Church in the Robert A. Myers Home for Funerals, 208 N. Jefferson St.
Interment will be in Graceland Memorial Cemetery.
