Amos Hartzell, aged 48 years, of Knox avenue, Union township, died in the Jameson Memorial hospital at 9:55 p.m. Sunday of a cerebral hemorrhage suffered while fishing in the Little Neshannock, north of New Wilmington, late Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Hartzell's plight was discovered by Bill and Russell Bees, brothers, who pulled Mr. Hartzell from the water, where he had fallen, and summoned New Wilmington firemen and a New Wilmington physician, who gave first aid, and brought him to the hospital here.
He lived for over two hours after being admitted to the hospital.

Born in New Castle, February 18, 1900, he was the son of John Hartzell and the late Elizabeth Knight Hartzell. The deceased, a lifetime resident of New Castle, was employed for 24 years by the Shenango Pottery company. He was a member of the L.O.O.M. lodge.
Survivors in addition to his father include his widow, Mrs. Carrie Myers Hartzell; two children, Howard John and Delores Ora Hartzell, both at home, and four brothers, Chester, Thomas, William and Harrison, all of New Castle.
He also leaves five sisters, Mrs. Nettie Majesky, of this city, Mrs. Elizabeth Fee, Youngstown, O., Mrs. Harriet Duffy, Harrisville, Pa., Mrs. Margaret Varrion and Mrs. Mary Lang, both of Los Angeles, Calif.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Cunningham funeral home, East Washington at Chestnut, with Rev. O.W. Hurst officiating. Interment will take place in Oak Park cemetery.
Friends may call at the late residence from any time after 7 o'clock this evening until noon on Wednesday, when the body will be returned to the funeral home for services.
