MRS. BIRDIE SMITH STUKES
Mrs. Birdie Smith Stukes, 82, of 1867 Merritt Drive, died this morning at her residence.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Street Chapel with the Rev. Myron Leonhard and the Rev. Jerry Mills officiating. Burial will be at Guilford Memorial park.
She was a native of Alexander County and was a retired employee of Cone Mills. She was a member of Clifton Road Baptist Church.
Surviving are sons, Robert S. Holliday of Level Cross and Paul Holliday of Greensboro; brother, Tallie Smith of Burlington, sister, Mrs. Carrie S. Stout of Burlington; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
