William Ray Gill, 44, of 4724 S. Lawton, Tulsa, Okla., and formerly of Murphysboro, died Saturday, June 2, 1979, at his home, after a long illness.
Mr. Gill was the owner of a construction company. A U.S. Navy veeran, he had served in Korea. He was a member of the Apostolic Church in Tulsa.
He was born April 4, 1935, in Murphysboro, to Lafe and Muriel Clark Gill. He was married September 1, 1956, in Mississippi to Barbara Ann Moore. Survivors include his wife of Tulsa; three sons, Billy Ray Gill, Larry Gill and Michael Paul Gill, all of Tulsa; his mother, Muriel Gill of Murphsyboro; siblings, Mildred Asbury, Rosetta Camden and Opal Johnson, all of Murphysboro, Eileen Moake of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., and Mary Johnson and Ethel Davis, both of Tulsa, Leonard E. Clark of Columbia, Harold Gill of Cahokia and Leon Gill of Dunkirk, Ind.; and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his father, one sister and one brother.
Funeral services will be at the Grimsby Pentecostal Church. Friends may call at the Pettett Funeral Home in Murphysboro.
