Muriel Joy Gill, 86, of Murphysboro, died Tuesday May 7, 1985, in the Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She was born September 7, 1898, in Fairfield, to Eugene and Mary Sanders Clark.

She married Lafe Gill on August 12, 1924, in Murphysboro. He died March 29, 1947.

Survivors include six daughters, Mildred Asbury, Opal Johnson, and Rosetta Camden, all of Murphysboro; Eileen Moake of Lake Ozark, Missouri, Mary Johnson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Ethel Davis of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three sons, Leonard E. Clark of Columbia, Harold Gill of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and the Rev. Leon Gill of Dunkirk, Indiana; 30 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter; and two brothers, Juel Clark of Sand Ridge and Jack Clark of Murphysboro.

She was preceded in death by two sons, one daughter, two grandchildren, one great grandchild, one brother, and one sister.

Burial in the Worthen Cemetery.
