Bulletin Newspaper Dated 10/23/1958

JOHN COOKMAN, 77, 4825 Scatterfield Rd., died at 12:45pm Wednesday at St. John's Hospital.

Cookman was born Feb. 7, 1881 in Madison County and was the son of Minter and Sarah Meade Cookman. He retired in 1946 after 25 years employment at the Delco-Remy Division. His wife, Lydia, died in 1939. Mr. Cookman was a member of the First EUB Church.

Surviving are: three sons, Forrest, Middletown; Wayne, Phoenix, Ariz., and John, Portsmouth, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. A. F. Herkless, Hinsdale, Ill., Mrs. Lowell Mullen and Mrs. Shirley Rariden, both of Anderson; 18 grandchildren; five great grandchildren, and a brother, Lester, Anderson.

The body was taken to the Baker Brothers Funeral Home where friends will be received after 7pm today. Services will be conducted at 1:30pm Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Lieyd Dellinger of the Pleasant Valley Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the West Maplewood Cemetery.
