John Robert Atkinson , born 10 Apr 1885, in Barrow-in-Furness, ENG, came to this county when he was twenty months of age, along with his parents and siblings. Having been raised in this city, he made Sedalia his home and married Josie E Butler, 4 Oct 1911. To this marriage were born a set of twins who died young, and three sons and a daughter. He died yesterday at his home on East Eleventh street.

Also surviving is his mother, Agnes Atkinson, Mrs. Maggie Goldsmith, Mrs. A.W. Goldsmith, Mrs. Glen Cox, and James W. and Arthur Atkinson of Sedalia, and Mrs. J.E. Gornall and E.H. Atkinson of Kansas City. Preceding him in death, were his twins, his father, John Atkinson, brother, George Atkinson, and two sisters and an older brother.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church and had been employed by City Light and Traction Company for fourteen years.

Funeral services will be Friday with the Rev. Father John Mc Grane officiating. Interment will be in Calvary cemetery.
