Mrs. Lindsey was raised and educated in Sedalia, and was a graduate of Smith Cotton High School and a graduate of Central Business College. She worked as a Civil Servant in the VA office in Kansas City, MO. She then worked for many years as a deputy recorder in the Pettis County Recorder's Office. She was a member of St. Patrick Church where she served on the Human Development Committee. She was a member of Daughters of Isabella Circle 310 for over 50 years. She was active in the following organizations: Helping Hands, NARVE #42, Women of the Moose #1242, Women's Democratic Club of Pettis County, Open Door Ministry, AARP #660, and Western Missouri & KC Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation.
Also surviving are a son Robert Lindsey and wife Jean, of Wheaton, IL: a grandson, Keith Lindsey, and a granddaughter, Devin Lindsey.
She was predeceased by her husband, and three brothers, John Atkinson, Howard Atkinson and William Atkinson
