William Henry Scheaffer, 58, of Cochrans Mill Road (Bethel Township) died at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. Mr. Sheaffer was ill for the past three years. He was a member of Cochrans Mill Ubited Methodist Church and a life-time resident, of Bethel Township. Mr. Sheaffer was employed as a station engineer by Equitable compressing Station of Equitable Gas Company where he served for 30 years. Born Dec. 29, 1914 at Shelocta, he was a son of H. Elder and Ida (Boyer) Sheaffer. Surviving are his wife, Susie (Glass) Sheaffer; a son, Victor William of Burrell Township; a daughter. Miss Gloria Fay Sheaffer, at home; four brothers, Dewayne of Bethel Township, Donald of Keeple hill (Parks Township), Edward of Parks Township, Lyle of Ford City; five sisters, Mrs. Robert (Luella) Patterson and Mrs. John (Pearl) Beck, both of Parks Township, Mrs. Mable Lukehart of Burrell Township, Mrs. Joseph (Glenavee) Mansfield of Bethel Township, Mrs. Homer (Virginia) Christy of Southington RD 1, Ohio; one grandson. A sister, Mrs. William (Hazel) Glass died in 1955. SHEAFFER – Friends of William Henry Sheaffer, who died April 11, 1973, will be received at the Dean Cline Funeral Home, 260 Market St., Leechburg. Visitation hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. William E. Sheaffer, pastor emeritus of Stanton Methodist Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery (Gilpin Township). Arrangements by Cline.
