Mr. Ulys "Bill" Davis, son of the late Scott Davis and Adline Russell Davis, was born 5 May 1904 in Green Co., Ky., and departed this life 21 Jun 1977 at his home in Green Co. He was 73 years of age.
He made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the New Oak Grove Separate Baptist church at the time of his death.
Mr. Davis was united in marriage on 5 Feb 1933 to Addis Davis, who survives. To this union was born 1 daughter, Mrs. Marion Hill, who also survives. Also surviving is 1 son, Mr. Chester Davis, of Louisville, Ky.
A sister, Ms. Aleen Davis preceded her mother in death in Aug 1927. Four brothers and 3 sisters survive: Mrs. Orpha Houk and Mrs. Pauline Wisdom, both of Greensburg, Ky; Mrs. Stella Moran, Louisville, Ky; Adrian Davis and Boyce 'Cutler' Davis, both of Greensburg, Ky; Cecil Davis and Johnnie Davis, both of Louisville, Ky.
Six grandchildren survive: Martie and Nickey Hazle, both of Greensburg, Ky; Rickey, Rex, and Randy Davis, all of Louisville, Ky; Mrs. Betty Rich, Louisville, Ky. Three great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 pm Thurs. 23 Jun 1977 by the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home. The Rev F.T. Pepper and the Rev. Jim Bloyd officiated in the services. Burial was in the old Oak Grove Cemetery.
