Donald E Schuler Sr. 68, of Sunset Drive, Town of Floyd,
who was employed for 40 years at Revere Copper and Brass Company, until retiring in 1978 died Wednesday, Aug 31, 1988 at home.
Born on July 17, 1920 in Rome, he was a son of Leo and Nora Spellicy Schuler. On Nov 18,1963 he married Elizabeth J.(Betty) Guy. She died on Aug 14, 1980.
A Marine Corp veteran serving during World War II in the Pacific theater, he was a member of St Mary's Church, Rome Veterans of Foreign Wars. Rome American Legion Post, and Disabled American Veterans.
Surviving are two daughters, Ms Kathleen Miner and Mrs Robert (Donna) Lipe, both of Rome, five sisters Mrs Mary Hammon, Mrs Helena Brenon and Mrs Theresa Marcisofsky, all of Rome, Mrs Florence Baader, Rochester. and Mrs Ernest (Constance) Gipson, Dansville Ky; three brothers, Leo Schuler Sr and Winston Schuler, both of Rome and Lawrence Schuler, Plattsburgh, and four grandchildren.
He was predecease by a son, Donald E "Butch" Schuler Jr on Nov 28, 1985.
Services will be held Saturday at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home and a mass at St Mary's church with interment at St Peter's Cemetery.
