He was born April 14, 1879 in Tracy, Ind, to Carl and Dorothea (Meyer) Hoeppner and lived in La Porte county all his life. Mr. Hoeppner was a retired farmer.
He was married on April 18, 1917 in La Porte to Anna Abberger. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Farm Bureau.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Carl Hoeppner, Jr., route 2, Walkerton; Anton Hoeppner, route 3, La Porte, and James Hoeppner, route 5, La Porte; two daughters, Mrs. Roger Buche, Crown Point, and Mrs. Dayton Betz, Rolling Prairie; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, Fred and John Hoeppner, both of La Porte, and two sisters, Miss Emma Hoeppner, Kingsford Heights, and Mrs. George Allwater, route 1, La Porte.
Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the St. John's Lutheran church with the Rev. Manfred E. Reinke officiating.
Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran cemetery. Friends may call at the Otto E. Giese Funeral home from tomorrow noon until 11 o'clock Saturday morning when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state.
Friends may call at the church from Saturday noon until time of services.
