She was born June 5, 1913, in Rural Rush County, the daughter of John C. and Mary Binder Schaffer.
A lifetime Rush County resident, she was a homemaker, farmer and a cook at the Rush County Nursing Home, La Crosse. She belonged to St. Michael's Catholic Church, St. Michael's Altar Society Lifetime member, both at La Crosse; and McPherson Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, McPherson.
On Nov. 17, 1931, she married Daniel J. Schuckman at La Crosse. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include: three sons, Willard J., McPherson, Larry J., Round Rock, Texas, and Randy L., Austin, Texas; four daughters, Alverna J. Schaffer, La Crosse, Mary Lou Schaffer, Garden City, Marjorie Ann Schaffer, Wichita and Danelle Rose Peters, La Crosse; 26 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ilene Schaffer; all of her 14 brothers and sisters; and a granddaughter.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, La Crosse, with Father Charles Mazouch presiding. Burial will be in La Crosse City Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the church or to Rush County Nursing Home, La Crosse, both in care of the funeral home, 719 Pine, La Crosse, KS 67548.
