Ransom -- Anna M. Schuckman, 72, died Aug. 13, 1983 at St. Anthony Hospital, Hays, after a long illness. Born Anna Schafer April 11, 1911 at Liebenthal, she married Alex Schuckman June 9, 1930 at Cordia.


She had been a Ransom resident since 1939. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and the Altar Society, both of Ransom.


Survivors: widower, of the home; sons, Floyd, Arnold, Melvin, 1010 College Lane; daughters, Velma Bauer, Lyons, Darlene LaBute, Hays, Dorothy McCabe, Americus; brothers, Peter and Henry Schafer, both of LaCrosse, Sephen Schafer, Hutchinson; sisters Applonia Weber, Oakley, Rosie Schuckman, LaCrosse; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.


Rosary will be at 8:30 p.m. Monday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City. Funeral at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church; Monsignor Patrick Leahy. Burial at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 until 10 p.m. Sunday and all day Monday at the funeral home.
