In spite of the information given on her Death Certificate, it appears that her parents were Charles Nelson Tharp and Catherine (Couch) Tharp. They were divorced in 1879, and in the 1880 census, she is living with her father.


OBIT:

Mrs. Cora Bell Tharp Bilyeu, 72, wife of Robert L. Bilyeu of Halsey, died at the family home Tuesday afternoon following a long illness. The funeral service was held from the Methodist Church at Halsey at two o'clock this afternoon, with Rev. A. Neufeld officiating. Interment was to be in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Bilyeu was born in Benton County, October 31, 1870 and had spent all her life in Benton and Linn counties. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She was married at Scio, March 28, 1888 to Robert L. Bilyeu who survives. The sons and daughters are J. R. Bilyeu of Portland; Chester F. of Cle Elum, Washington, Robert D. of Halsey, Cecil D. of Harrisburg, Mrs. Ethel M. Barber of Halsey and Mrs. Edith E. Keith of Walton.
