Funeral at Etzikom for Eldest Lady in Community

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Laura Stromsmoe were held in Etzikom on Saturday, July 21st, with interment in the Etzikom Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brian Hobbs, Jim Sergeant, Robin, Clint, Guy and Keith Stromsmoe, all grandsons of the late "Gramma" Stromsmoe. Officiating at the funeral another grandson, The Rev. J. Mervin Sergeant. Organist was Mrs. Marilyn Shauf and soloist Mrs. Vicki Stromsmoe (granddaughter). The late "Gramma" Stromsmoe passed away at her home in Etzikom on July 18th.

She was born in Polk County, Minnesota, in 1884 and moved to the Pendant d'Oreille district with her husband in 1912, and to Etzikom in 1926, where she has resided until her passing.

She was predeceased by her husband in 1963, two daughters, Ethel in 1952 and Verna in 1926, and two sons, Olaf in 1910 and Waldo in 1945. Left to mourn her passing are three sons, Allan of Warner, Jerome and Wendell of Etzikom; two daughters Orlue Sergeant of Claresholm and Phyllis Hobbs of Barrhead. Thirty six grandchildren, eighty-four great-grandchildren, and twelve great, great, grandchildren.
