A. L. BRUBAKER, 7, DIES AFTER., SHORT ILLNESS

Abraham Lincoln Brubaker died October 6, 1937, at his home on east Maple street after several weeks' illness. Services were held at the Sacred Heart church Saturday morning. Burial was at Highland cemetery. Son of Henry and Leah (Wible) Brubaker he was born in Napoleon, Ohio, August 22, 1860, and married Emma Cecelia Shondel June 10, 1884. They lived near their birthplace in Ohio until November, 1903, when they came to Grout township to make their home and cleared and improved a farm.

They are among the first settlers in this part of the township, where now only a few of the old neighbors are living. About five years ago they retired from their farm and moved to Gladwin. Three years ago they celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary at which their 15 children, their wives or husbands and families were present. This has always been a home where large family gatherings have been a very usual affair.

Pleasant; Mrs. Grace Schrader of Niles; and Mrs. Elva Kanthak of Toledo, Ohio. During his last illness all his children were at his besides. Three children have preceded him in death.

Surviving are also 73 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one brother in Florida. Those from out of town attending the funeral were: A. V. Shondel of Mansfield, Ohio, Jake Shondel and daughter Bernardine of Holgate, Ohio, Mrs. Frank Sturm, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Nadeau, Mrs. Forest Booth, Mrs. W. Brown and son Paul and wife, Mrs. H.
