ILLNESS FATAL TO MRS. LEAHDICKEN
Mrs. Leah A. Dicken, 82, of Beaverton, died Monday, Oct. 14, at the Gladwin Hospital following a lingering illness. Born in Paulding County, Ohio Aug. 5, 1886, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Brubaker. The former Leah Brubaker and Earl L. Dicken were married in November, 1911, in Toledo, Ohio. They came to Gladwin County from Toledo 52 years ago and farmed in Grout Township. Mr. Dicken died July 24, 1966.
She is survived by four sons, Francis L., Charles L. and Clarence E., all of Gladwin, and Thomas E. of Beaverton; a daughter, Mrs. Helen M. Cox, and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Hattie Stroman, both of Beaverton; three sisters, Mrs. Elva Kanthak, Toledo, Mrs. Nora Gruss, Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Grace Schrader, Niles; six brothers, John of Clare County, Ray, Victor, Dennis and Curtis, all of Gladwin, and Lawrence of Beaverton; 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Services were held today (Wednesday) at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, of which she was a member,with Fr. Edward Trombley officiating. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
