Walter V. Judge, 93, of Altoona, formerly of Albia, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2001 at CLC in Altoona. Funeral services were 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 10, 2001 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albia, Rev. William Walter officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Albia.

He was born Feb. 14, 1908 in Melrose, to Michael and Ann Scieszinski Judge. He married Alice Heyland Aug. 30, 1932. She died Oct. 9, 1994. He was a farmer and Monroe County Supervisor for 15 years. He was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albia.

He is survived by three sons, Gene Judge of Bondurant, Jack Judge of Pleasant Hill and Jim Judge of Dubuque; one daughter, Betty Murray of Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, Michael Judge; four brothers, Chris, Frank, Ed and Mike; and four sisters, Mary, Ann, Agnes and Margaret.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the family wishes. Gilbert-Nordstrom Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
