AGNES L. CARR DAWLEY
Agnes L. Carr Dawley, 87, of Oskaloosa died Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Siesta Park Manor in Oskaloosa. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Church in Oskaloosa, the Rev. Robert Busher presiding. Burial: St. Mary's Cemetery in Oskaloosa. There will be a Christian Vigil Service at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa. Visiting hours will follow until 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society.
Agnes Carr Dawley was born Nov. 10, 1911, in Wayne Township of Monroe County to M.C. and Anna Scieszinski Judge. She married John Carr, and they lived near Weller for many years before moving to Oskaloosa around 1950. John Carr died. She worked at Mahaska County Hospital in Oskaloosa at the switchboard for more than 25 years. In 1972, she married Harry Dawley. Following their marriage, they lived in New Sharon until his death in 1991. She then moved back to Oskaloosa. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Oskaloosa and the church's Altar and Rosary Society.
Survivors include one brother, Walter Judge of Des Moines; one son and his wife, Jim and Donna Carr of Winter Haven, Fla.; one daughter and her husband: Mary Agnes and Ralph Moore of Phoenix, Ariz.; one son-in-law: Gordon Anderson of Oskaloosa; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter: Joanne Anderson; a great-grandson, Justin Carr; four brothers: Mike, Ed, Frank and Christopher Judge; and three sisters: Mary Lahart, Margaret Carlo and Ann Feehan.
