Nemma attended school at Wyatt and Campion Academy in Colorado, and Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska. She graduated from Boulder Sanitarium and Hospital September 1922 as a registered nurse. She belonged to the local state and national organizations. She did private duty for many years and helped maintain the home for the parents. She joined the SDA church in her girlhood.

As of March 1971, she was retired.

Nemma never married and shared a home with her sister, Olive, who also never married.
