Carol Limke, 67, Carpio, formerly of Burlington, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012, in her home, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Carol Jean "Nubby" Limke was born April 12, 1944, in Minot. She was the youngest of 13 children born to Fred and Anna (Fuchs) Ahmann. She was raised on the family farm near Lake Darling in St. Mary's Township, Ward County. She attended Stammen Consolidated School, rural Foxholm, and Carpio Elementary School. She graduated from Carpio High School in 1963.

Carol was once married to Rodney Olson and from this marriage, three children were born Rusty, Tamie and Cory. Carol later married LeRoy Limke Nov. 29, 2000, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Minot. They made their home on a farm in Carpio.

Carol began her career as an accountant at First National Bank in Minot. She spent the remainder of her career at Town & Country Credit Union as an accountant and retired in 2006, after 28 years of employment.

Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was full of life and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was always willing to help any of her family members or friends, and was like an older sister to many nieces and nephews.

Surviving family includes: husband, LeRoy, Carpio; children, Rusty (Debra) Olson, Enola, Pa., Tamie (Jim) Dunn and Cory (Cari) Olson, both Minot; stepchildren, Mike (Vickie) Limke and Brad (Tina) Limke, all of Carpio, Brenda (Craig) McPherson, Lakeville, Minn., and Kristi (Cal) Carlson, Phoenix; grandchildren, Kacie and Jessie Olson, Taylor and Mason Dunn, Kayli and Rylan Olson; great-grandchild, Jillian Porter; stepgrandchildren, Jacob (Allison), Megan and Wyatt Limke, Bethany, Cassidy, Jericho and Kennedy Limke, Sam, Ruby, Luke and Gavin McPherson, Connor, Cooper and Colton Carlson; mother-in-law, Dorathea Limke, Carpio; brothers, Alvin (Lorraine) Ahmann and Duane (Janette) Ahmann, all Minot; sisters, Valetta (Ken) Tait, Villa Park, Calif., and Diane (Bill) Moore, Huntington Beach, Calif.; brothers-in-law, Jack Cowles and Tom Plemel, both Minot; sisters-in-law, Donna Ahmann, Glenburn, Margie Ahmann and Margaret Limke, both Minot, Leona Knower, Lakeville, Minn., Betty Goettle, Donnybrook, and Ardell (Bill) Skaufel, Burnsville, Minn.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Anna Ahmann; brothers, Everett (Judy) Ahmann, Delmar Ahmann, Johnny (Shirley) Ahmann, Kenny Ahmann, and Tom Ahmann; sisters, Willora Cowles, Blanche Ahmann and Anna Mae Plemel; sister-in-law, Dorothy Ahmann; brothers-in-law, Larry Limke, Dale Goettle and Charlie Knower; and a stepgrandchild, Baby Limke Carlson.

Mass of Christian Burial: Monday, March 12, at 10:30 a.m., in St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.

Interment: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Foxholm.
