She was born on February 2, 1935 in Foxholm, ND, a daughter of Fred and Anna (Fuchs) Ahmann. She was raised on a farm in rural Foxholm and attended a rural country school for 8 years. She then attended St. Leo's Catholic School in Minot and graduated in 1952. She worked at the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service office in Minot for 8 years. She then became employed at Bishop Ryan High School where she was a baker and worked with the school's lunch program. Anna Mae was loved by all of the students at Bishop Ryan and made life-long friendships with many of them.
Anna Mae was united in marriage to Thomas Plemel on June 23, 1960 at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Minot. She had a great life with her husband for 45 years. She was Tom's golfing partner, his fishing partner, his motorcycling partner, his convertible partner and also his drinking partner. She was a wonderful mother, active and involved in her children's lives. She was also a "second mom" in the way she took interest in her children's friends' lives. She will always be remembered as a hugger and a very loving and caring person. She will be remembered at Bishop Ryan for her love, kindness and her special buns.
Anna Mae was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church in Minot and was active in many activities at Little Flower School and Bishop Ryan High School.
Survivors: husband, Thomas; daughters, Cindi Andersen of Watford City, ND and Mary Plemel of Denver, CO; sons, Mark (Tricia) Plemel of Denver, CO, Roger Plemel of Minot, and Paul (Carla Wells) Plemel of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Brock Plemel, Katie and Dylan Andersen, and Jackson Plemel; sisters, Valetta (Ken) Tait of Villa Park, CA, Diane (Bill) Moore of Huntington Beach, CA, and Carol (Leroy) Limke of Carpio, ND; brothers, Alvin (Lorraine) Ahmann of Minot, ND, Duane (Janet) Ahmann of Minot, ND, and Tom (Marge) Ahmann of Foxholm, ND. She is also survived ;by 59 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Everett, John, Delmar and Kenny Ahmann; sisters Blanche Ahmann and Willora Cowles.
