Obediah's parents were Quakers and he was also for a period of time.. Ten children were born to this union, Samuel, Rebecca, William, Isaac, Lydia, Obediah H., James, Esther, Jesse and Joseph.
After Obediah wrote his will on Oct. 16, 1822, the spelling of their name was changed to Paden.
