Samuel was born to Obediah Paden and Esther Dunne, in York Co, PA. He grew up with his siblings.
He married Eve Ice on May 29, 1826 in Tyler Co., WV. Some times she is shown with the first name of Catherine. Eve had a child from a prior marriage, Elihu Ice. The only know child I have located was Samuel Paden Jr. b. about 1831. He married Sarah Fowler in 1858 and the known children are Mary E., John Wakefield, Ella, Charles and O. A. Paden.
In the 1850 census Samuel b. 1776 & wife were shown living in WA. Co. Ohio. His wife died July 24, 1852 in Spencer Co., IN. In 1870 he was in a boarding house in Magnolia, Wetzel Co. WV. Samuel died sometime after that possibly in 1871.
