Mrs. Mary Florence Thompson Odom, age 94, Soperton, died Thursday, February 8, 2001, in Treutlen Nursing Home.

The Tattnall County native was a daughter of the late A.P. Thompson and the late Lula Galbreath Thompson. She was a member of Lothair United Methodist Church and Lothair United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Eddie Odom, Sr., and three sons, Felix Odom, Ward Odom and J.E. Odom.

Survivors include one son, Dwight Odom, Suwanee; four daughters, Gail Willis, Soperton, Eloise Pronko, Maynard, Mass., Anne Hutcheson, Vidalia, and Lillie Powell, Soperton; one sister, Mildred Wilkes, Valdosta; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, February 10, 2001, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with the Reverend Tommy Veal and the Reverend Ray Garren officiating. Interment followed in Westview Cemetery in Soperton.

Pallbearers were grandsons: Jeff Willis, Bryan Odom, Chase Cannon, Cameron Brown, Phil Odom and Joey Hutcheson. Honorary escorts were Virginia Austin, Teresa McLendon, Peggy Barwick, Teresa Miller and Tanisha Figueroa.
