Arthur B. Thompson, 59, of Route 2, Vidalia, died Wednesday of last week in the Dublin VA Hospital, following a short illness. He was a native of Toombs County, a veteran of World War II, and was retired from the Diamond Construction Co.

Funeral services were held Friday from the Center United Methodist Church with the Rev. George Coursey, officiating. Interment was in Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Murchison Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were: Terry Wilkes, Richard Thompson, Danny Mac Thompson, Jack Gillis, Ronald Thompson, Gene Thompson. Honorary pallbearers were: Campbell Register, Tom McDonald, John McDonald, Ancle Kersey, Elton Powell, Clyde McNair, Danny Thompson, Talmadge Lewis, Emmett Galbreath, Del Galbreath, B.C. Stephens, G.P. Tippett.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lillie Love Thompson, Vidalia; one daughter, Miss Janice Thompson, Vidalia; four sisters, Mrs. H.D. Gillis, Vidalia, Mrs. Eddie Odom, Soperton, Mrs. Arva Wilkes, Valdosta, Mrs. Bill Lutz, Joliet, Ill.; one brother, Dan Thompson, Alston, and several nieces and nephews.
