She was born Aug. 14, 1900, to Carl and Louise (Reimann) Max at Akron Township in Wilkin County. She grew up and attended school in Wilkin County. In 1926, she moved to Pittsburgh where she kept house from Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Elwood for 18 years.
Ida later returned to Minnesota in 1944 and worked for numerous families in the Rothsay and Breckenridge area. She eventually moved to Breckenridge where she settled with several of her brothers and sisters. She continued to live at home with her brothers and sisters until 1992 when she then moved to the Wahpeton Health Care Center.
She was a member of the Breckenridge Lutheran Church and the Breckenridge Lutheran Community Women. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and sewing. She also enjoyed spending time with her brothers and sisters with whom she remained very close throughout her entire life.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ed, Charlie and Henry, and four sisters, Emma, Louise, Lena and a sister who died in infancy.
Visitation: 3-7 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge
Service: 1 p.m. Friday, May 5, at the funeral home
