Bertha Parham
Asheville, Bertha Angel Parham, 87, of Asheville died Wednesday, August 18, 1999.
Mrs Parham was born on March 3 1912 in Buncombe County, where she had lived all of her life. She was the daughter of Willard B. and Lina Parris Angel and wife of the late Jeff Parham who died in 1987. Bertha was preceded in deathy by a daughter , June Banks; sisters, Sue DeBhuhl Dema Griffin and Lena Ruppert and brothers Ralph, Howard, Jay and Homer Angel.
Surviving are her son, James D. Moore Sr. of Asheville; and sisters. Wilma Hollifield of Candler, Christine Moore of Leicester, brothers, Johnny Angel and Sam Angel, both of Alexander and Mark Angel of Leicester, nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Monticello Road Baptist Church of which she was a member, with the Revs. Jay Blankenship Sr., Phil Willett and Kevin Morton officiating. Burial will be at French Broad Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at West Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church one hour prior to service.
At other times the family will be at the residence of Lewis and Gaynelle Haynes, 10 Long Street, Asheville.
