ASHEVILLE CITIZEN, Sat. July 29 1939

Ralph Angel, 20, of RFD 1, Leicester, was instantly killed about 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon when he was struck by a Southern Railway Freight Train near the country home crossing on the Murphey Division.
Angel, officers said was setting on the tracts about 10 minutes before he was killed. It is believed that he went to sleep and was struck by the east-bound train.
Dr. George F. Baier, Jr. County Coroner, investigated and said that no inquest will be held. Surviving are the parents, Mr and Mrs W.B. Angel, four sisters, Bertha, Wilma, Sue Alice, and June Angel, and six brothers, Homer, Howard, Johnny, Jay, Max and Sam Angel.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of West Funeral Home.
