Alfred Jackson Bowen, Jr. (1899-1971) was the fifth son born to his parents, Alfred Jackson Bowen, SR. (1858-1929) & Ann Elizabeth "Annie Eliza" Williams (1867-1931). On 13 Aug 1927, he married Ethel Marguerite Jones (1908-1997), daughter of Martin Eastwood Jones (1844-1925) & Ella J. Ennis (1874-1942), granddaughter of William M. Jones (1813-1877) & Nancy Hendricks (1820-1907). They began their lives together on his father's farm, near the Adabell community, where he operated a small country store. While living there, their first four children, all sons (Harold, Alfred, Marty and Kenneth),were born. In the Fall of 1933, he purchased the farm on which his wife was born and raised. The farm had been owned by his wife's father, Martin Eastwood Jones (1844-1925), a farmer and Confederate Army Veteran. In January, 1933, the family moved there, about a mile and one-half from where they lived previously, on his A. J.'s father's farm. During their 44-year marriage, A. J. and his wife Ethel Marguerite Jones (1908-1997) had a total of seven (7) children. The younger three (3) children (CLYDE RANDFORD, CHARLES ELLIOTT, & ALICE MARGUERITE) were born after they moved to the farm, he bought, and all the children were raised in the same house his wife was born and raised in.

Jun 1968, Jacksonville, Duval Co., FL (Burial: South Thompson Baptist Church Cemetery, Toombs County, Georgia). Many years after divorcing her 1st husband she married (2nd) CHARLES J. SCHENCK (1894-1981), who was also divorced. She had no children. Alice Nita Bowen is buried in Hillcrest Abbey East, Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia beside her 2nd, and last, husband Charles J. Schenck.
