Edna Loree Bowen, born 26 Aug 1907, died 10 Jan 1987, daughter of Alfred Jackson Bowen, SR. (1858-1929) and Ann Elizabeth "Annie Eliza" Williams (1867-1931) was born and raised on her father's farm in Bulloch County, Georgia. On 15 Sep 1927, at the age of 20 years, she married Charlie Thomas Hendricks. They moved to the Norfolk, Virginia area. Her husband had at that time already become an ordained Missionary Baptist Pastor and he lead his parishioners there in Norfolk in building a Church. He, then, served as pastor of the Church for nine years before his death. Edna was a good, supportive wife, raising their two children in the Church. She kept in close contact with her eleven siblings, and made the journey to the annual Bowen Family Reunions with her children, and later on with her grandchildren as well.

Edna and Rev. Charlie Hendricks had two children:

1. Tommy Lee Hendricks (1934-1984)
2. Alice Marie Hendricks (1937-2018)

SCHENCK (1894-1981), who was also divorced. She had no children. She is buried in a mausoleum vault at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery, Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia.
