ALICE NITA BOWEN, b. 29 Oct 1904, d. 15 Jul 1997, was the tenth child, and fourth daughter, born to Ann Elizabeth "Annie Eliza" Williams and Alfred Jackson Bowen. All her siblings survived to maturity except a brother, John J. "Johnnie" Bowen, who died at the age of 2 years, 11 months, 1 day. She was a strikingly beautiful young woman, attending business school acquiring skills in typing and stenography, the skills necessary to a successful career in commercial offices in the Savannah, Georgia area where she spent the remainder of her life, living and working. At 24 years of age, First, she married ALLEN PORCHER HUBBARD on the 20th of June, 1929 in Bulloch County, Georgia. He is buried in the South Thompson Baptist Church Cemetery, Toombs County, Georgia. No children from this marriage. After a few years they divorced and many years later she married a second time. Her second husband was CHARLES JOLLY SCHENCK (1894-1981). They lived happily together until his death in 1981. There were no children from this marriage, however her second husband had a son and two daughters from his first marriage. Both Alice Nita Bowen Schenck and her second husband are interred side-by-bide in a Mausoleum Vault at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery, Savannah, Georgia.

Jun 1968, Jacksonville, Duval Co., FL (Burial: South Thompson Baptist Church Cemetery, Toombs County, Georgia). Many years after divorcing her 1st husband she married (2nd) CHARLES J. SCHENCK (1894-1981), who was also divorced. She had no children. Alice Nita Bowen is buried in a Mausoleum Vault at Hillcrest Abbey East, Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia beside her 2nd, and last, husband Charles J. Schenck.
