Grace Greear, daughter of Thomas and Emma (Noblitt) Greear was born on April 13, 1891 near Staunton, Illinois. From 1895 to 1904 the family lived in Missouri and returned to Edwardsville, Illinois in 1904. She married Buren B. Roberts on November 23, 1914 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. They made their home in Marshalltown, Iowa where he had established an upholstery business.
Grace was survived by her parents and eleven brothers and sisters: Hazel, Emmett, Tillie, Elwood, Melvin, Clarence, Oren and Ida, wife of Robert Cale, all of Edwardsville; Lon of Groton, South Dakota; Ed of Hedington, North Dakota, and Ulie, of Oklahoma.
"The funeral of Mrs. Buren Roberts of Marshalltown, Iowa, formerly Miss Grace Greer, of this city, was held yesterday morning at 10 o'clock from the home of her parents in Mahler Heights. Rev. Ressho Robertson, pastor of the St. John's Methodist Episcopal church, conducted services. Interment was in the Woodlawn cemetery.
Those who attended from out of town were: Mrs. Albert Mills, Panama; Mrs. Carrie Noblitt, East St. Louis; Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Williams, Panama; Mrs. Mattie Duncan, and daughter Miss Ethel, Highland; Mrs. Julia Snell and Mrs. Herman Litto, St. Jacobs, Mr. and Mrs. Hy.
