Mrs. Ida Mae (Greear) Cale, 78, a resident of Nolan's Sheltered Care Nursing Home for the past three and a half years, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Highland, where she was admitted at noon on Saturday.

A resident of Edwardsville for 60 years, Mrs. Cale had been housekeeper at the old Leland Hotel for 20 years before her retirement in 1954.

She was born Sept. 6, 1889 in Philipsburg, MO., the daughter of Thomas and Emma (Noblett) Greear, formerly of Edwardsville.

Survivors are four brothers, Edward of Rochesster, Minn., Oren of Forrest Hills, Md., Elwood of Danville and Emmett Greear, Omaha, Neb., and two sisters, Mrs. Tillie Stricklin of St. Louis and Mrs. Hazel Dippel, Wood River.

Besides her parents, four brothers and two sisters are deceased.

She was a member of the First Christian Church.

Friends may call at the Lesley Marks Funeral Home after 6 p.m. today, until 2 p.m. Tuesday when services will be held. The Rev. Donald W. Frantz, church pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. (Obituary in the Edwardsville Intelligencer on Monday, October 16, 1967)
