Stella E. Alt, 88, of Petersburg, died April 8 at Grant Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Alt was born Jan. 16, 1899. at Smoke Hole and was a daughter of the late Zacariah and Mary Kimble Alt.

Her husband, James Frank Alt, died Dec 18, 1969.

Surviving are five sons, Charles P., Paul O., Roger L., and William S., Alt, all of Petersburg, and Kermit M. Alt of Baltimore, Md.; four daughters, Vada Evick of Franklin, Martha Evans and Audrey Blosser, both of Richmond, Va., and Myrtle Berg of Maysville: two sisters, Minnie Kimble of Upper Tract and Myrtle Layton of Maysville; two brothers, Okey and Golden Alt, both of Upper Tract; 22 grandchildren: 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

The funeral was conducted 11 a.m. Saturday at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg by the Rev. Douglas Cline. Burial was in the Alt Family Cemetery at Upper Tract.
