Charles P. Alt, 74
Charles Payton Alt, 74, of Petersburg, W.Va., died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, W.Va.
Mr. Alt was born Sept. 16, 1932, in Pansy, W.Va., and was a son of the late James Frank Alt and Stella Emily Florence (Alt) Alt.
He was employed by Glen L. Martin Aircraft in Baltimore, Md. and was a farmer most of his life. He attended the Potomac Valley Baptist Church in Maysville, W.Va.
Survivors include his wife, Ina Jane Kesner Alt; three sisters, Audrey Blosser of Richmond, Vada Evick of Franklin, W.Va., and Martha Evans of Bulls Gap, Tenn.; three brothers, William S. Alt and Roger L. Alt, both of Petersburg, and Kermit Alt of Baltimore, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
Pastor Ted Anderson will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Thursday at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, W.Va. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Petersburg.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Potomac Valley Baptist Church, P.O. Box 439, Maysville, WV 26833 or to a charity of choice.
