a veteran of the U.S. Army, he served our country in World War II as a medical technician in an evacuation hospital. He fought in Central Rhineland and was awarded the Bronze Star, Europan Theatre of Operations Medal with two battle stars. Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal, European Occupation Medal and a Citation of Merit. He worked for General Motors Broening Highway Plant for 32 years. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time with his grandson. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Naomi Ruth McGuiness Alt; son Jeffrey; brother William; sisters Audrey Blosser and Martha Evans; grandson, Corey Kevin Alt.
