Vada Alice Alt Evick, age 75 of Franklin, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2011 at Pendleton Manor in Franklin. She was born at Pansy, WV on April 8, 1936, the daughter of the late James Frank and Stella Emily Florence Alt. She was married to William Frederick Evick, who preceded her in death on July 7, 2008.

Ms. Evick was a 1955 graduate of Petersburg High School and was a member of the Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren. She retired from Pendleton County Schools after working for 23 years as a Teacher's Aide.

Vada is survived by: 3 Sons, Billy Evick and Wife Cindy of Franklin, Bobby Evick and Wife Julie of Franklin, Bradley Evick and Wife Teresa of Harrisonburg, VA; 2 Sisters, Audrey Blosser, Martha Evans, both of Richmond, VA; 2 Brothers, William S. Alt of Petersburg, WV, Kermit Alt of Bel Air, MD; 7 Grandchildren, Megan, Hannah, Preston, Grant, Natalie, Benjamin, Heidi; and 1 Great-Grandson, Mason. In addition to her parents, Ms. Evick was preceded in death by: 6 Brothers, an infant, Charles P., O. Paul, June, Orville, Roger Lee; and a Sister, Myrtle Berg.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, November 17, 2011, 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Pastor Pat Godfrey will officiate funeral services on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Franklin.
