Lester lived in Adams County during his early years. He was a resident of the Waynesboro area for most of his adult life; however, he did live for several years in Fayetteville, PA.
Lester married Marie C. Barnhart in June of 1929. Lester and Marie had two sons, Paul Edward Sprenkle (wife: Nancy E. Walters) of Dillsburg, PA and Omar Eugene Sprenkle (wife: Emma Dolores Starliper) of Waynesboro PA. Lester had three grandchildren: Paul Edward Sprenkle, Jr. of Dillsburg, PA.; Linda M. Hutson) of Hancock, MD and Larry G. Sprenkle of Waynesboro, PA. He also had four great-grandchildren: Ronnie Pryor of Florida; Justin Kint, Hannah Sprenkle and Andrew Sprenkle all of Waynesboro, PA. He had 10 brothers and sisters.
He was employed by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression. Lester also was employed in the Plumbing and Heating business for several years. He worked at the Landis Machine Company and owned a Service Station on North Church St. in Waynesboro, PA. His last employment was in the Building and Facilities Department at the South Mountain Restoration Center (Samuel G. Dixon State Hospital) in South Mountain, PA.
Prior to entering the Quincy Home and Village on November 8, 1994, Lester lived at 1712 E. Main Street in Waynesboro, PA.
Following his death, Lester was cremated and buried in the Beautiful View Cemetery in State Line, MD.
